This region is characterised by natural landscapes, farmsteads and large bodies of water associated with the Meuse River. Here you will find quiet but very hospitable villages as well as several attractive and bustling cities. The national park, De Groote Peel, and the large areas of forests and heath land which are part of the national parks of De Meinweg and De Maaduinen give this region a special beauty. In spring, it's all about strawberries and asparagus, and in summer roses and fruit. Due to its relatively flat nature, North Limburg and Central Limburg are ideal for bicycle trips.
The little white town of Thorn is definitely worth a visit. And what about the many local attractions such as the Castle Gardens (De Kasteeltuinen), the thermal baths at Arcen, the open-air museum at Eynderhoof, the Klein Zwitserland playground, Toverland (Magic Land), Asparagus museum De Locht, and the Limburg Museum? In short, North and Central Limburg have a great deal to offer visitors!
