Boat trips on the Meuse river

Would you like to see what the city looks like from the Meuse River? Rederij Stiphout has several tour boats ready and waiting. For example, you can take a cruise on the Meuse, which can be combined with an excursion through the underground marl passageways beneath St. Pieter's Mountain (St. Pietersberg). You can also take part in a day cruise to Liège or a cruise around Maastricht, including passage through 4 different locks: the “Border Cruise”. Or you can embark for a Saturday Night Cruise with entertainment and an ample cold & warm buffet. A brunch boat cruise on Sunday morning is also an option.
All cruises depart from our landing at Maaspromenade 58, between the St. Servatius Bridge (St. Servaasbrug) and the Wilhelmina Bridge (Wilhelminabrug), within the pedestrian-only zone in the city centre. For information on how to find us and parking options, go to: www.stiphout.nl.
The following is an overview of the many options available: 

Cruise on the Meuse
This boat trip gives you an excellent overall view of Maastricht from the water. The trip takes you past the historic St. Servaas bridge, the new Céramique district, the Gouvernement building and St. Pietersberg Hill. Just before the Belgian border, the boat turns back towards the centre of Maastricht.

Cruise on the Meuse with a tour of the tunnels under St. Pietersberg Hill
The same trip as described above, but with a stop at St. Pietersberg Hill. After cruising for 20 minutes, you disembark and walk up the hill, where you are given a one-hour guided tour of the marl tunnels by a
VVV guide. After the underground tour, the cruise continues. Attention: not suitable for people who have difficulty walking.

Boat trip Maastricht–Liège (Round trip)
The boat cruises via the Meuse to the locks at Ternaaien, where it is locked 15 metres upwards to the Albert Canal. Via this canal, you proceed to the city centre of Liège, where you arrive at about 12:30 PM to explore the city on your own. The boat departs at around 3 PM for the return trip to Maastricht. Reservations required beforehand.

Boat trip Maastricht–Visé with a visit to the weekly market of regional products (Round trip)
During the boat trip to the lovely Belgian town of Visé, you pass two sets of locks and are served a hot cup of coffee with vlaai (sweet flan). At around 11:30 AM, the boat anchors near the centre of Visé, where you have the opportunity to visit the weekly market with regional products. The boat departs at around 13:30 PM for Maastricht. Reservations required beforehand.

Brunch boat trip
From 8 April to 9 December, on every second and fourth Sunday of the month, you can take part in a fun brunch boat trip. An ample brunch buffet with cold and hot dishes helps make this an enjoyable excursion for the entire family. Reservations required beforehand.

Pancake Cruise
During this pancake cruise on the Meuse, you can enjoy a Pancake buffet. You may garnish the pancakes with bacon, apples, warm cherries and ice cream. This trip is organised every second and fourth Sunday of the month between 8 April and 9 December. Reservations required beforehand.

Saturday Night Cruise
Between 5 May and 15 December, on every first and third Saturday of the month, you can enjoy a stylish and memorable evening cruise, complete with a cold and hot buffet plus entertainment. The
